SENIOR PORTRAITS

A GALLERY OF LIFE'S MAJOR ACHIEVEMENTS

Creating

Experience senior portraits feeling confident, relaxed, and empowered to rock your session and create portraits that beautifully and naturally capture your joy during this exciting season of life!

My senior portrait sessions revolve around YOU and who you are right now. We take time to collaborate before your session to plan how you want to present yourself, items you'd like to incorporate, and what setting you might like for your portraits. But don't worry if you don't have strong preferences for these things. After 10 years of photographing seniors, I have plenty of ideas and advice I can give once I start getting to know you a little better!

  • How many photos are delivered after a session?
Typically 75-80 images can be expected to be included in your gallery after a 1-hour portrait session.
  • How long will it take to receive our online gallery?
Gallery delivery times can vary depending on the season (Fall especially) but you can expect your gallery to be delivered within 2-3 weeks after your session date.
  • Do you edit all the images from our session?
I go through all the images taken at your session and choose the best of the best of all the groupings we do. I then do a light editing process in a program called Lightroom to make adjustments to lighting and/coloring of the images as needed. All of these images are tweaked slightly for brightness and sharpness, which give them the the consistent, bright, crisp, clean look that you see when you look at my work. In order to maintain a classic, timeless appearance to the images, no filters are used. Some images are selected to be included as black and white as well as color images. Then they are all uploaded to your online gallery. For some of my favorite images, I will edit in Photoshop if there are distracting elements in the background or a temporary blemish that has been brought to my attention. No significant Photoshop editing is performed.
  • Can our dog be included in our pictures?
Absolutely! As long as I know ahead of time when we're planning the location for your session. There are a few spots I frequent for sessions that are not dog friendly, so I would want to help share only dog friendly location ideas with you when planning.
  • What happens if it rains or we have other bad weather?
I check the weather forecast 24 hours before your session time. If there is 100% chance of rain, snow, high winds, etc. in the forecast, I will reach out to you at that time to discuss rescheduling options. If only a slight chance shows, we will plan a time for the day of your session to check the weather again and make a final call at that time. Inclement weather at your session time requires a reschedule.
  • Do you have a studio or are all sessions outdoors?
I currently do not own my own studio and 99% of sessions are done on-location at a park or other public area. There are studios available to rent in multiple locations around the central Ohio area though. If you'd prefer an indoor setting for your portraits, the cost of renting a studio would be built into your session total. Most range from $50-$75 for an hour. Occasionally, families have chosen in-home sessions as an indoor option, and I love that idea as well!
  • We have young kids who don't sit still very long, what if they don't last the whole hour for taking photos?
Trust me, I have no expectations for your young kiddos to sit still for your portraits! Because we have up to a full hour together, I usually take a slow start which allows your young kiddos to get used to me before we really start snapping away. While I love capturing everyone's perfect smile looking at the camera at the same time, I also love capturing the active in-between moments as well. Some of my favorite portraits (and my clients' favorites) have been more candid-style, in-between moments that we can't get if we don't take a little time between the posed moments, so don't worry AT ALL if your kids aren't smiling, looking, and listening the whole time we're together. I love incorporating some down time, play time, and silly time in the mix to keep them engaged for our portrait time (which usually leads to at least a few images with everyone looking and smiling!)
  • Can my extended family join us for our photo session?
Extended family sessions are great, especially if it's not very often that everyone is together! I absolutely welcome extended family sessions, but due to the nature of larger numbers of people and photographing multiple family groupings during a single portrait session time, there is a $50 fee for including up to a total of 15 people.
